It’s done! Here is the first official Ghoulzone Podcast t-shirt design.

I can’t use transparency around the figure because of the nature of the painting, so this is a black rectangle shape on the shirt. It looks best on black so I made a black shirt, but hey we’re horror fans so it makes sense, c’mon
! The black of the image will still show somewhat against the black of the shirt but it acts as a frame for the image anyway so it’s no big deal. (there’s a watermark on this image which isn’t on the shirt)
I made a quick shirt but I just joined Zazzle so I will make a store and link it to the site good and proper soon. I just wanted to get this up right away to see what you think. Here’s a pic of the shirt so you can see what it looks like and it links to the page with the details.
It looks a little funky on the display there which makes me a tad nervous. I should probably order one first to check the quality, but that image is jpg so there shouldn’t be any transparency issues.
I need some feedback here peeps, what do you think of the design and do you want to see more? I have about a dozen designs written out and some of them are sketched so I have plenty more to come.

The painting is almost done. I’m down to the final phase, putting in edits and highlights and such and trying hard not to overwork the painting. I haven’t made anything this advanced (for me) in a long time, and I could actually hear the sound of rusty hinges creaking as I worked reminding me that it’s been too long. I need a lot more practice but the main thing is to keep making stuff.
I also screwed myself as I always do and took on a concept that was difficult for me to start with, I should have planned it better. Ah, but there’s that muse again telling me this must be done, so I dood it.
I have written down a whole bunch of ideas for future horror-themed t-shirt and poster ideas, so I’m ready to continue after this one. Good to be making art again. I have to check and see how it looks on shirts and experiment with things like dpi sizes (I went 150 on this which is minimal for a decent image transfer) to figure out how to make future projects move faster and have less steps and cleanup to them.
Let’s hope this means I’m back in the saddle, because I’ll have to make some money and probably do some freelance again if I can manage it after 6 years of being out of the game.
BTW, I don’t know if I’ll get a Ghoultoon up this week because Thursday I’ll probably try to keep going and get this design finished. Then I’ll see about setting up the shirts and let you see it right here when it’s done.
Y’all come back now, hear?
Big apologies to anyone still visiting here. I have slacked off on the Ghoultoons for a couple of weeks and the podcast hasn’t moved forward. I won’t go into why because it’s just more bad news and who needs to hear that? Everything from the vanishing bank account and impending financial doom to yet another terminal medical case in the extended family, no, things are not looking too cool in the old Ghoulzone.
Still, there are a few sparks of hope left.
I made a couple of sales in my internet based business but it’s still not close to being enough yet. Let’s hope things keep getting better in that department because my goal is to work from home full time and make a decent living doing it. If that happens I’ll have much more time, space, and privacy to do a crapload of podcasting. Sticking to the plan…
One other piece of good news is that I have started making art again after a very long slump. This is not counting the ‘Toons as that stuff I consider hobby level. But I started painting on the computer, and I have one piece half done so here’s hoping I can keep this going.
That’s good news for you because I’m making t-shirt designs like I mentioned way back at the beginning. I’m switching over to Zazzle since they have more flexability with their designs and printing processes. This is important because, although I like making the vector art and will be doing a lot more of those too, I want to do the painted stuff because I guess that’s where I’m at these days.
The few pieces I have for sale from Spreadshirt haven’t been seen much, and I haven’t sold a single one. Maybe I’ll transfer them to the Zazzle account, I’m not sure yet, I have more reading to do. The point here is, despite the joking and commentary of some of my contemporary podcasters, I need to make money however I can. It’s not greed, it’s survival. So I don’t think anyone should have a problem with me using this website to also feature my artwork more prominently and try to make a lot of great stuff people will actually want to buy.
Anyway, just keeping you updated. I should have the new Official Ghoulzone Podcast T-shirt Design ready sometime soon, and we’ll take it from there.
The Ghoultoons are coming back too, but I get a little burned out and need a break sometimes.
The funny doesn’t come easily these days. But then something sparks my funnybone again and we’re off.
Again, sorry for my inconsistancy but I always say I work with the brain they gave me, and Doc Frankenstein doesn’t return my calls anymore.
Stay tuned, I do appreciate it.
